Jessica was born in California, the oldest child of David and Angela Adams. From the day she was born, she was very independent and always knew just what she wanted. Even from a very young age, Jessica was a born leader. She never had a problem taking charge of any situation. She would see what needed to be done long before others, and would jump in and get things done, often while guiding others along the way.

Jessica grew up in Glendale, AZ attending Pioneer Elementary and graduated from Cactus High School. She had many talents and interests and enjoyed being involved in as many things as she was able. In elementary school she enjoyed playing soccer, learning the piano, and singing. Once she got into high school her world opened up. She played volleyball all four years, helping her team win the state championship during her senior year. She also played tennis and sang in the choir. Her involvement in student government, culminated her senior year when she served as Student Body President. She loved every minute of it and did all this while working, sometimes, two jobs at a time. Her parents often worried she was doing too much, but she lived her life by the motto: “Go ahead and underestimate me. That will be fun!” If there was something she wanted to do she would figure out a way to do it. And when others questioned it, in her unspoken way she would say, “Oh really? Watch me!”

Being the oldest, and the only daughter, she would always be the one her brothers would lean on first whenever they needed her advice or listening ear. Oh, how she loved her brothers! They were her closest friends.

Jessica was very sociable and made friends everywhere she went, and her friends were not few in number. She had the gift of seeing everyone around her as their best selves and treated them as such. Her loyalty and devotion to her friends never went unnoticed, and many came to her because they knew she would listen and love them no matter what. She was so real and honest, and that is a trait to which many were drawn. She always celebrated the success of others.

After graduating from High School, Jessica attended one year at Southern Utah University, then finished her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Chamberlin College of Nursing in Phoenix, AZ. Jessica knew from the age of ten that she wanted to be a nurse and planned her life accordingly. She had a passion for helping and serving others, so nursing was a natural fit. At the time of her death, she was working at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in the in-patient rehabilitation unit.

Shortly after graduating from nursing school, she met the love of her life, Daniel.  They were a perfect match from the start and together made an amazing team. They were married for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Her faith in Jesus Christ drove her to be the best she could be in all aspects of her life.  As a wife and mother, Daniel describes Jessica as being loving, caring, and always passionately serving him and their four young sons. Jessica was a natural “boy mom” loving to be in the middle of the fun and craziness, most of the time. Just like her husband, she loved the outdoors and spent lots of time hiking, camping, kayaking, and spending time at the beach. She and Daniel were married for eleven years in May.

The most important thing in Jessica’s life was her family. From a very young age, she loved spending time with her family, whether it was her parents and brothers, or her large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. When she married Daniel, he became the most important man in her life, followed by her four boys. She loved cheering them on and supporting them all in what they were doing. She was often seen on the sidelines with posters in hand, cheering for Daniel while he ran marathons and other races.

Jessica had a knack for making everything fun. Her smile lit up the room, her eyes were full of expression, and her laugh was always infectious. She had a way of seeing the humor in most situations. These are some of the many traits we will miss greatly.
